  • AS I LOOK AHEAD AT 2009...

I'M CELEBRATING. "because i am just one, everyday young woman...and though the world is so wide, it does not matter. God is bigger, and He dwells in me, in you. dreams will live. you'll see. i'm shouting, "FOLLOWING JESUS PAYS."
"i stand before Christ and the world. my heart shouts an affirmation: "Jesus, i am a humble, lowly servant woman. take me...all of me. add anything. take away anything. at any cost. with any price. make me Yours. completely...wholly. may i not be remembered for how i wear my hair or the shape of my face or the people i know or the crowds i've addressed. may i be known for loving You...for carrying a dream...for building bridges to the hurt and broken and lost in the world. make me what You would be if You lived in Person where i do. may everything accomplished through my simple life bring honor and glory to You. take my human flaws and failures, and use them to remind these who know me, that only You are God, and will always just be me. amen. amen."
Everywhere you look there are hearts and souls. People with hands and feet. Beings that feel. Wonder. Cry. Hurt. Everywhere I turn there are faces. Eyes that look up at me. For a brief moment we see eachother. WHAT DOES MY LIFE SAY TO THEM?
I am an ordinary woman. I am simple, human, and flawed. I grapple with longings and dream dreams. I wonder and I worship my Father. I live a simple, uncomplicated life. I am lost in a world of many, many people. I am poor. Making a difference?
            YES.
I believe in the kind of God who takes ordinary people, with ordinary personalities, ordinary talents and ordinary lives and uses them. I believe in the kind of God who shapes earthen vessels into a vessel He can use. I believe in the kind of God who knows every sin, imperfection, hurt and doubt and still pursues people. I believe in the kind of God who makes all things and everything possible. Because of this God, I can love and embrace the word and meaning of impossible. Because of this God, I can believe and have hope that my ordinary life can make a difference.
Not because of who I am...but who lives within my heart.
            PLEASE...you...celebrate too?
"you can. it was God's idea you should. the world is silent and morose and depleted and waiting to hear your laughter and your shouts and your echoes of praise and thanksgiving. eyes are glazed. hearts are tired, beating slowly. thousands dress up and cover up and work over all their empty places and unheard cries............................................the world is waiting to hear your song. to see the wonder in your eyes. to touch the music and feel it, too."
